On Monday the Elkhart Common Council approved an ordinance requiring the owner or occupant of a property to remove all snow and ice from sidewalks along the property. The sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after either the last snowfall or build-up of ice.
This means you better clean natures shit and spend your money in bags of salt to wipe and clean the cities sidewalks. If you don't do it, the city will give you a fine of $25 each time "what a way to make the city some money". Course this will exclude seniors and handicaps (duh) but not those who left for
vacation, sick, working 2 jobs, that just dont give a shit about other peoples fat kids.Mayor Dick Moore said "At the end of the day, we want the sidewalks to be safe and clear for all the people who need to use them," he said. "This is particularly important now because of the increased number of Elkhart Community Schools students who must walk to their buildings each morning."
I am sure this is just a quick buck for the city not to go broke and like that movement they did "You know...by lowering our speed limits to give cops excuses to give us tickets" yeah. You see the connection? seems they got to get the money from somewhere since everyone is dam broke and the rest are either doing methlabs or fucking in some whores house.
Moore would like to see neighborhood associations, church groups, and school clubs help those who are unable to clear their own sidewalks.
"It's about neighbors helping neighbors for the benefit of the community," Moore said.
My neighbors were caught doing a methlab and my other neighbors are probably doing cocaine,Yes Mr. Moore, I REALLY should be a good neighbor and help them out.

Good thing I live in South Bend! :)
this sounds like a job for the elkhart department of human resources. why not pay people to do the job instead of making people do it for free who already have enough stuff to do besides work full time to live in a garage because they can't afford a house payment.
