We have announced that windows 8 will no longer have the start menu on its operating system, and with that people are having such a hard time adapting to its new missing core "So do I". As we find other alternatives such as our latest article Pokki Windows 8 Start Menu. We have found yet another Windows 8 Simple yet elegant Start Menu for those who don't want the extra baggage of apps.
Enter StartW8, another free application that replaces the Start Screen with a Windows 7-like Start Menu that does a good job matching the new UI. It lets you launch the menu with the Windows key and sets the OS
to sign in directly to the desktop, bypassing the Start Screen entirely.
Once you install the application you can customized the menu any way you want including in Germain language.
A click on the start menu icon displays a list of recently launched programs on the left, a link to all programs below that, a search form, the shut down button, and on the right side links to often used folders like My Documents, Music or the Control Panel.
You can change which menu items are displayed here in the program settings. While you are still limited to a handful of system links in total, it gives you some control over the items displayed here.
StartW8 works on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 8.
