Photo Geotagging Security Risk

Do you take photos with your smartphone and post them online?
Innocent photos of your children or snapshots of family get-togethers that you want to remember are common on social media sites.

However, these photos pose a serious and dangerous privacy risk.
Thieves and criminals can find the exact location where your photos were taken, via the GPS on your smartphone – whether that’s your child’s bedroom or your favorite restaurant.
This security concern has been around for quite a while – but privacy breaches will continue, as long as geo-tracking is enabled by default on your family’s photos.

The software behind the photos includes geo-tags, according to Deep Medhi, a computer science professor at UMKC.
These are geographical tags that store where and when the photo was taken, similar to the type of technology used in GPS devices.
Your smartphone automatically stores the location where the photos were taken, whether it is at a local park, your child’s day care center, or even your own home.
Anyone can easily translate these geo-tags through browser add-ons that are completely free to download. The add-ons or apps turn the geo-tags into mapped locations to make it easier for human eyes to determine the location.

Technology is continually developing, and privacy is an ongoing problem – particularly for social media sites like Facebook. If you’re not careful, you could be giving criminals all the information they need to harm you
and your family. For now, make sure your GPS settings are set to the level of control that you want them, and be careful when posting pictures online. It takes just a free browser add-on to get more information than just the image shows.

How Do you Protect Yourself?
You can disable your geo-tags on your phones settings and any other social website using their control settings. If you need help trying to figuring it out, let us know and we can help you. I would easily post a "how to" but every device is different and every software is always updating and changing. Its just easier for us to help you right then and there.

Women In The Video Game World

 Feminist Frequency is a video web series that primarily explores representations of women in pop culture such as TV shows, movies, comic books and video games.  Mainstream popular culture has become, for better or worse, our dominant form of storytelling especially in Western cultures and these stories do have a profound influence on our lives, perceptions, values and belief systems — even if we don’t always like to admit it.  So my goal with Feminist Frequency is to explore the tropes, stereotypes and patterns that are

most often associated with female characters in mass media.  Not all tropes are problematic, of course, so I focus specifically on deconstructing recurring patterns that tend to reinforce or amplify preexisting regressive notions or attitudes about women and women’s roles in our larger society.

This video explores how the Damsel in Distress became one of the most widely used gendered clichés in the history of gaming and why the trope has been core to the popularization and development of the medium itself.

This is one good educational view for those who don't really pay attention to video game gender bending.

Final Fantasy X & X-2 (HD)

Square Enix is going to be remaking the Final Fantasy X & X-2 game with remastered HD along with an upgraded limited edition of a 24-page art book for a case.

They have provided a video of the comparison of its SD and HD graphics (widescreen). This remake will make all final fantasy smile as more and more remakes come to the stage and introduced to the moderner game systems. Pretty Exciting stuff, right? Now, If now they could just get final fantasy 7 remastered and with way more better graphics like the one seen on final fantasy 13....that would be GREAT!!!


The game will be for the PS3 and hopefully it will be for the Xbox.

Don't Keep Your Pet In the Heat

Its summer time and we all know some dog owners love to take their dogs when running errands. But nothing is more frustrating than seeing a dog inside a car on a HOT summer day with just a few inches of windows opening. Some people don't understand that leaving mans best friend can cause serious damage. (Pretend you're in a that car with a sweater on).

Which is why this video from veterinarian Dr. Ernie Ward might change your mind about leaving your friend all by themselves. Please don't try this experiment, your buddy just hopes you have the brain and heart to think about leaving him alone when its 70 outside. If you know you’ll have to leave your dog in the car, it’s just better to leave your buddy at home.

Now this is an educational video I'm willing to see over and over just because its cute,gross, and playing educational. Please don't hate on the little guys. The video its called "Dumb Ways to Die"

This video  is part of a campaign to help prevent train-related deaths in the state of Victoria, Australia  which  features various animated characters singing a catchy tune warning of the dangers of acting unsafely around trains. The film may end up winning a third Grand Prix since it is favored to win in the Films Lions category later this week.

 It even got 50 million viewers on YouTube. So Cute to die for.

This is a Fan made video of the famous Final Fantasy 7, the Italian film maker Gionata Medeot said the reason for this video is to bring hope that Square Enix brings a live version in the future.....I personally think it may bring out lawyers instead of a movie. The motivation is good and the video is bad ass, I just hope Enix sees it that way and brings us what everyone is craving for.

The New Xbox Dashboard

YAY XBOX is getting a new Updated Dashboard with lots of goodies this Fall including A partnership with cable/Television, from 40 providers worldwide, some of them include Bravo, Comcast, HBO GO, Verizon FiOS and Syfy. The screen shots for the new dashboard looks a lot more like the Microsoft Phones layout but with with a much more smoother displays and navigation. The other cool features are YouTube and Skype which I'm sure using and others more.....
